MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Tennessee nurse was found guilty of smearing an adult diaper filled with urine and feces across her coworker’s face, according to the Office of the District Attorney General Frederick H. Agee of the 28th Judicial District.
On Monday, Sharandal Mitchell, 40, was found guilty of Assault – Offensive Contact. Mitchell will be sentenced in May.

District Attorney General Agee said that on March 30, 2024, Mitchell was working as a Licensed Practical Nurse at a nursing home in Medina, Tenn.
Mitchell was reported by a coworker for refusing to provide care for a patient experiencing a prolonged nosebleed and for failing to administer prescribed medications to patients under her care, Agee said.
Facility management told Mitchell to return her medication cart keys and leave the nursing home for not fulfilling her duties, the district attorney general said. She refused and began acting erratically, blaming the coworker for contacting management.
Agee said staff then contacted law enforcement, and when officers responded, they waited two hours, and Mitchell still refused to leave and counted medication in her cart.
According to Agee, Mitchell then entered a patient’s room where the coworker was, and Mitchell put on gloves, picked up a used adult diaper that had urine and feces, grabbed the coworker by the hair, and smeared the diaper on her face.
The coworker pushed Mitchell away, and Mitchell was then taken into custody by officers on scene, Agee said.
