On March 4, 2026, the United States House of Representatives voted 357 to 65 to shut down a resolution proposed by Nancy Mace that sought to release records related to sexual harassment and misconduct investigations involving members of Congress. The resolution, House Resolution 1100, was referred to the Ethics Committee, a move commonly interpreted as shelving it indefinitely.

The measure was prompted by allegations involving Tony Gonzales. Mace said Congress has used more than $17 million in taxpayer funds to quietly settle harassment claims and argued that Americans deserve transparency about which lawmakers were involved.

A total of 175 Republicans and 182 Democrats voted to block the release, while just 65 members voted to allow the information to become public.
